MFEM: A modular finite element methods library

MFEM is an open-source, lightweight, flexible and scalable C++ library for modular finite element methods that features arbitrary high-order meshes spaces, support a wide variety of discretization approaches emphasis on usability, portability, high-performance computing efficiency. MFEM’s goal to provide application scientists with access cutting-edge algorithms meshing, discretizations linear solvers, while enabling researchers quickly easily develop test new in very general, fully unstructured, high-order, parallel GPU-accelerated settings. In this paper we describe the underlying abstractions provided by MFEM, discuss software implementation, illustrate various applications library.
